MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Delivery and collection of cars and commercial vehicles to and from customers sites, supporting SFS customer contracts, whilst maintaining a high standard of professionalism to help maximise customer satisfaction, and completing all appropriate paperwork.
Ensure vehicles are cleaned and valeted in line with Company and customers’ expectations and that the yard is clean, tidy and free of debris.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Driving Duties and Associated Paperwork
- To deliver and collect cars and commercial vehicles to and from Customer sites, in a safe manner
- To carry out mandatory vehicle checks before driving any vehicle to comply with Company policy and procedure and to ensure the vehicles driven are legal and fit prior to driving.
- To carry out condition checks of the vehicles both before collection and following delivery, identifying any damage and where required obtaining photographic evidence of condition.
- To ensure record of work undertaken is accurately recorded on computer systems.
- To complete Defect rectification notes upon finding a fault with a vehicle that may have caused or potentially cause a problem.
- To have a flexible working approach to the deliver and collection of vehicles to and from the depot in a timely manner.
- Taking vehicles for MOT test where requested.
- Collecting parts as requested by the management team.
Health and Safety
- To ensure take steps to safeguard own and others’ Health and Safety by ensuring operate safe working practices, in line with appropriate Method Statements and Risk Assessments and utilisation of all PPE provided.
- Promptly report, and where possible, deal with any hazards that arise.
- Ensure maintain clean and tidy working area, including vehicles.
- To hold a current Driving Licence for all classifications of HGV’s and notify the Company of any changes immediately including any health-related conditions that may arise impacting ability to drive, the addition of penalty points or any disqualification.
Yard duties
- To carry out yard duties as required, including steam cleaning and valeting vehicles and ensuring the yard is clean and tidy.
- To undertake minor defect repairs when required.
General duties
- To adhere to Company Policies and Procedures and uphold Company Core Values, focusing on Customer Care with a professional approach to customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- To protect and secure vehicles, buildings and property by following Company procedures.
- To carry out any other driving duties as and when required by other departments.
To accommodate any other reasonable tasks that may be allocated to work effectively as part of a team to achieve the business objectives and maximise customer satisfaction, thereby also gaining repeat business wherever possible, maximising utilisation rates and profit levels
