What you’ll be doing

We are looking to recruit a specialist BTL Surveyor to support the Head of Surveyors, our in-house Surveyors team, panel valuers and the LPA Receiver with all associated head office valuation functions in providing specialist and complex BTL valuation advice within the Bank.

If you are fully qualified (MRICS/FRICS) with post-qualification experience and wish to specialise and join our growing team, this may be the opportunity for you.

Experience in valuing the more complex residential investment properties which include Houses in Multiple Occupation and Multi-Unit blocks is a requirement of the role.

This will be a senior role within our in-house valuation team that would suit a candidate with proven valuation experience that now seeks to develop their career further within a specialist lender environment. Some management experience may be an advantage.

More specifically, this unique position requires the successful applicant to:-

  • Provide expert specialist BTL advice in accordance with our Lending Criteria, RICS Red Book and Paragon's guidance across Head Office activities
  • Support and organise rotated Duty Surveyor activity for internal post-valuation enquiries
  • Be a face and champion of the Group on valuation matters and support the Group’s Buy-To-Let business and other functions eg Development Finance and Due Diligence exercises as required
  • Support Panel valuer relationships providing input and oversight through the Panel validation activity
  • Assist with Receiver of Rent, Repossession, and Power of Sale properties under management
  • Provide Market Reports and other information for Group Strategy and interact with field operations and new starters

About You

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Professional competence/qualification (MRICS/FRICS) and Valuer Registration scheme
  • Existing experience as detailed above
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the regulatory framework incorporating RICS requirements, property regulation, LPA Receivership and property management standards
  • Experience and to stay updated on property and regulatory matters affecting landlords, the property market and technical developments with a focus towards the specialist and complex BTL markets
  • Up-to-date CPD and Clean current driving licence

Working hours / arrangements

  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (one hour for lunch).
  • Located at our Head Office in Solihull for 3 days per week and then either working from home or out in the regions across the UK supporting our team.
  • As such, it is likely that you will be located within up to 100 miles from Solihull.
