Main Purpose: 
Deliver vehicles to customers at the start of the hire period and collect them at the end of the hire period, maintaining a high standard of professionalism to help maximise customer satisfaction level, ensuring damage is recorded and all appropriate paperwork is completed.

Ensure vehicles are cleaned and valeted in line with Company and customers’ expectations and that the yard is clean, tidy and free of debris.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Driving Duties and Associated Paperwork
  • To deliver and Collect Hire vehicles to and from Customer sites which will include travelling nationally, ensuring complete Driver Missions within the required time scales
  • To carry out mandatory vehicle checks before driving any vehicle to comply with Company policy and procedure and to ensure the vehicles driven are legal and fit prior to driving
  • To carry out comprehensive checks of the hire vehicles both on and off hire including obtaining photographic evidence of condition
  • To complete all necessary paperwork required including On and Off Hire Vehicle Condition Check Sheets, identifying and recording vehicle damage and submitting to the Hire Department at the end of each day in order for recharges and vehicle condition to be identified and reported or recharged effectively and correctly
  • To ensure record of work undertaken is accurately recorded on computer systems
  • To complete Defect rectification notes upon finding a fault with a vehicle that may have caused or potentially cause a problem
  • To be available for early shift starting times in order to be able to deliver vehicles to customers at the beginning of the working day to meet their expectations, in line with details on the Driver Mission and as directed by the Hire Department
  • To hold a current Driving Licence for all classifications of HGV’s and notify the Company of any changes immediately including any health related conditions that may arise impacting ability to drive, the addition of penalty points or any disqualification
Health and Safety
  • To ensure take steps to safeguard own and others’ Health and Safety by ensuring operate safe working practices, in line with appropriate Method Statements and Risk Assessments and utilisation of all PPE provided
  • Promptly report, and where possible, deal with any hazards that arise
  • Maintain clean and tidy working area, including vehicles
Yard duties
  • To carry out yard duties as required, including steam cleaning and valeting vehicles and ensuring the yard is clean and tidy
General Duties
  • To adhere to Company Policies and Procedures and uphold Company Core Values, focusing on Customer Care with a professional approach to customers, suppliers and colleagues
  • To protect and secure vehicles, buildings and property by following Company procedures
  • To carry out any other driving duties as and when required by other departments
  • To accommodate any other reasonable tasks that may be allocated to work effectively as part of a team to achieve the business objectives and maximise customer satisfaction, thereby also gaining repeat business wherever possible, maximising utilisation rates and profit levels

About You

Essential Skills    
  • HGV Class 2 (minimum) and Driver Qualification Card
