About the Role

Job Purpose
The role purpose is to provide resource to the Network Team to support (and optionally extend) existing Network Team functions while providing a workplace learning experience for the apprentice. The Network Team is expected to respond in a timely manner to support tickets, queries or fault reports and to support projects.
The network team are responsible for the Network and Telephony infrastructure within the Bank to ensure all the related systems are running and functioning as expected therefore a wider than normal understanding of the traffic flow between locations and inside and outside of the organisation is expected although it is recognised that the apprentice will take time to develop this level of expertise.
As well as this being on the Network Team, individuals are required to understand the inner workings of an IT department which will allow them to effectively triage tickets and queries. The apprentice will be provided time with the different areas within IT to provide them further exposure and develop this knowledge.
The apprenticeship will look to support the apprentice in becoming a Network Engineer, providing support and working on Network related IT Projects. They will use tools to problem-solve and troubleshoot non-routine problems, optimise performance of networks, complete network related system upgrades, provide support to users and other IT teams when required and fix issues to keep their organisations’ productivity going strong.
Qualifications Apprentices will earn during the apprenticeship:
  • Network Engineer Level 4 Apprenticeship
  • CompTIA Network+
  • BCS Level 4 Certificate in Network Systems and Architecture
  • BCS Level 4 Certificate in Network Security

Qualifications and experience
Working Hours 
37.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 5.00 with one hour for lunch.
