About the Role

Purpose of the role

With the increasing volume of IT threats, it is imperative to ensure the IT Infrastructure is patched to the latest levels to maximise our protection. While patching can be automated to some extent, a role is required to manage and maintain the automation as well as handling any out of line situations that may arise. As patching can be disruptive some of the work will, by necessity, occur outside of office hours

Duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinate patch management activities for the IT Infrastructure (Servers and Workstations
  • Deploy & QA patches, create deployment schedules as when required
  • Review and vet security and other patches for use in the production environments
  • Create a sustainable, repeatable patch management procedure that adheres to company policy
  • Ensure change management requirements are met, including the coordination of testing
  • Stay informed regarding advances in patch management technologies
  • Assist in implementation of new technologies and processes
  • Report on patch management status
  • Manage, participate and complete tasks on time with Infrastructure projects
  • Participate in support as needed
  • Document systems configuration
  • Contribute infrastructure information to all areas within IT, such as Service Desk
  • Take responsibility for one’s own development
  • Performs other duties as required

About You

Key Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2003 R2,2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10
  • Knowledge of patch deployment methodology’s / applications (WSUS, SCCM)
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP protocols
  • Understanding firmware upgrades
  • The documenting of procedures for others to follow
  • Communicating, listening and information gathering
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Basic understanding of PCI-DSS, ISO27001, ISO22301

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure administration and support
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in current IT department technologies
  • IT Related training / certificates (desired, not required)
 
Working Hours 
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm with one hour for lunch.
