Brief description

TBMC is one of the leading buy-to-let mortgage specialists in the UK. We are seeking a Processing Assistant to support the Processing Team in the administration of mortgage applications, on a full time and permanent basis. The applicant should be a team-player with strong organisation and customer service skills.

Purpose of the role

To assist the Processing Team to assess, analyse and process Buy-to-Let mortgage applications received from brokers and landlords for a wide range of Buy-to-Let mortgage lenders, from receipt of application to offer of loan.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Obtaining a ‘decision in principle’ to lend from various lenders
  • Assisting in the preparation of outstanding requirements letters
  • Offering alternative solutions to declined applications
  • Analysing and assessing pre-completion incoming post, emails and faxes
  • Offering ancillary services where appropriate
  • Reviewing and assessing valuation reports
  • Managing the team’s application pipeline
  • Matching correspondence to files
  • Keep internal processing computer systems clear and up to date
  • Communicating with customers, financial intermediaries and lenders where appropriate
  • Ensuring telephone calls, emails and faxes are answered within service standards


  • Good time management, ability to prioritise workloads and work to strict deadlines
  • An understanding of the wider team role and department process and procedures
  • Ability to take ownership and see things through to conclusion
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications

Qualifications and experience

Grade C or above GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics. An understanding of the mortgage process is helpful but not essential.

Working hours

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 9.00am to 5.30pm (one hour for lunch). Friday 09.00am to 5.00pm (30 minutes for lunch). A flexible approach to working hours will be required to meet the needs of the business and the team.


Relevant training will be provided.
